Job Summary:

The Marks JCH Women's Center, seeks a passionate and dedicated social worker specializing in case management and advocacy around gender-based violence, intimate partner violence, and domestic violence. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team committed to providing comprehensive support and care for people in need, playing a crucial role in enhancing the wellbeing of our community.

This role involves providing intake, screening, monitoring, case management, referrals, programming support, and supportive counseling for our clients, in addition to stewarding individual relationships with clients and families.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Providing trauma informed-care, comprehensive case support tailored to the unique needs of vulnerable refugee clients and immigrant survivors, primarily arriving from the former Soviet Union. Through a range of specialized services and grassroots community partnerships, we help clients transition from surviving to thriving.

• Conduct intake & screening assessments for clients.
• Develop safety plans and manage the needs of domestic violence clients through targeted referrals, legal clinics, benefit screenings and more.
• Serve as a liaison with internal and external agency partners and other providers to ensure adequate client referrals and follow-up.
• Maintain and review case documentation, such as case notes and program referrals.
• Investigate and arrange supportive services for clients.
• Establish collaborative relationships with internal programs and external partners to enhance domestic violence services.
• Stay updated with policies, regulations, and best practices related to domestic violence.

This is a full-time non-exempt position located in Brooklyn, NY. Candidates can expect an annual salary between $55,000 - $65,000 (commensurate with skills and experience) and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental & vision insurance, generous time off, and a pension plan. Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requested:

• Linguistic competence in Russian required; Uzbek or Tajik speakers are a plus.
• At least one year of experience working directly with clients in social service programming.
• Experience with trauma-informed programming is a plus.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, calendar, email, and database software necessary for work assignments.
• Proficiency in providing technical assistance on data collection and reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement program strategies for the maintenance of perinatal services.
• Support training and capacity building activities for providers and stakeholders in perinatal mental health, domestic violence, and other gender-based needs.
• Provide consultation and assistance to contracted providers to ensure quality of care and adherence to requirements.
• Outstanding program management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities on tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong sense of teamwork and the ability to function effectively both independently and as part of a multi-stakeholder team.
• Ability to handle difficult situations professionally, demonstrating sound judgment and resourcefulness.
• BA required; MSW or related fields preferred.

Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000
