Principal Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Evening Maintenance position is to maintain high standard of cleanliness in assigned area and throughout the building as directed to insure that customers enjoy a continued clean and neat appearance. The Evening Maintenance may be asked to assist in building repairs, general maintenance and event support. Perform building close procedures daily. Hours of work are from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday and 12:00 to 6:00pm on the weekend days. Must be available to work on holidays.

Maintain daily assigned schedule (See Attached duty schedule)

Maintain accurate log of daily activities.

Perform maintenance requests as assigned by supervisor

Set up tables, chairs, stages, sound, tents etc. for events as needed.

Understand the JCC emergency codes and responsibilities of staff to respond to emergencies

Be aware of and report safety and maintenance concerns.

Respond to biological emergencies is a timely manner.

Maintain compliance with all JCC policies and procedures

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

No education necessary, Previous experience in commercial housekeeping or janitorial preferred. Training is provided and cross training is encouraged.

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Must be able to read and understand mixing instructions for cleaning chemicals

Must be able to cooperate, assist and support co-workers to provide a cohesive team.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Answer service requests and emergency maintenance requests as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  2. Be aware of safety and appearance concerns throughout the building and grounds at all times.
  3. Correct and report issues as they develop.
  4. Record and maintain accurate Work Order data daily.
  5. Understand emergency codes and responsibilities of staff to respond to building emergencies.
  6. Get along with other members of the team to ensure cooperative work environment at all times.


    1. Fill and replenish sanitation stations throughout the building.
    2. Check and refill paper products and battery dispenser as required.
    3. Straighten and clean all public areas as needed.
  1. Trash Removal (Check Daily)
    1. Collect all interior and exterior trash containers daily.
    2. Keep trash containers clean (inside & out)(4 times per year or more often if needed)
    3. Collect recycle containers weekly daily and empty properly without plastic bags.
  2. Maintain Public Restrooms on 1st, 2nd & 3rd floors
    1. Re-stock paper products as needed
    2. Remove trash as necessary
    3. Keep counters, sinks, mirrors, partitions, fixtures, walls etc. clean, dry and spot free.
    4. Sweep and mop floors as necessary to maintain a safe, dry and attractive appearance.
    5. Maintain adjoining drinking fountains.
  3. Maintain Locker Rooms and Showers.
    1. Remove trash and debris on floors & shower stalls,
    2. Mop up standing water,
    3. Check and tighten any loose toilet seats
    4. Repair or replace any broken dispensing equipment or submit a work order for this to be done.
    5. Remove soaps and other residue from shower walls and doors.
    6. Remove lost items to lost and found.
    7. Keep ceiling vents and returns clean.
    8. Keep counters, sinks, mirrors, partitions, fixtures, walls etc. clean, dry and spot free.
    9. Refill Shampoo/Body Wash and Conditioner to the ? full mark (daily).
    10. Check and refill hand soaps, hand sanitizers, paper towels toilet paper, wet bags, as needed.
  4. Sweep and mop 3rd floor, kitchen and dance floor weekly or following an event where the kitchen or is used. Mop the Rotunda floor and Front Entrance with the floor machine, daily.
  5. Supply closets with paper towels, toilet paper, sanitizer, hand soap, sweep, mop and maintain an organized closet at all times.
  6. Complete event set-up's and tear down's as scheduled
    1. Set up responsibilities include verifying floor is clean and vacuumed if necessary.
    2. Wiping down window seals and bar counter top.
    3. Make sure all blinds are at same level (up or down) or as specifically requested.
    4. Follow set up plan as given, direct questions to the Assistant engineer.
    5. Tear down instructions include putting all tables, chairs & equipment away in an organized manor.
    6. Vacuum floor (social hall) or dust mop/sweep floor (dance floor).
  7. Windows
    1. Clean interior windows and glass as scheduled.
    2. Clean Exterior glass quarterly in specified areas.
  8. Daily Close Procedure
    1. Ensure all doors and gates are locked.
    2. Double check with the alarm system.
    3. Coordinate with contract cleaners, as needed.
