The Program & Membership Registrar supports J Los Angeles's communication, membership, and programmatic activities. They promote membership, offer tours of the J, provide registration for all membership programs and to JCamp and JCelebrates programs. They provide daily administrative and registration support for onsite programs at the J, as needed. The position reports to the Director of Finance and Administration.
The position is non-exempt, full time with some weekend and occasional evening hours. Daily Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with 30 minutes for lunch.
The primary responsibilities of the Program & Membership Registrar include, but are not limited to:
Manage registration, accept payments, do attendance tracking, and coordinate logistical needs for JCamp and select programs.
Be the friendly voice & face of The J.
Handle phone and in-person inquiries regarding programs & memberships.
Be knowledgeable, informative & enthusiastic about all the program offerings.
Provide tours of the Center.
Signup new members.
Experience in a customer-service setting strongly preferred.
College degree preferred.
Must enjoy working in a community environment & dealing with the public.
Must bring a helpful, friendly spirit to meeting the needs of a diverse clientele, including patrons and co-
Punctual & reliable; able to commit to position's stated hours.
Strong written & oral communication skills.
Computer literate & internet-savvy. Must know PC programs, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel,
Outlook) & be a quick learner on new software.
Able to work independently or as a team member as the situation demands.
Able to follow issues through to resolution.
Able to represent The J with professionalism & good judgement.
$35,000 - $45,000
The J Los Angeles (formerly the Westside Jewish Community Center) has been serving the Los Angeles community for almost 70 years. We host a variety of programs for the community, including an early childhood center, basketball leagues and classes, swim lessons, summer and winter day camp, fitness classes, family holiday programs, teen leadership and Israel programs, senior wellness and adult programs. The JLA's Weinberg Aquatic Center, featuring two saline pools, is home to the popular SwimRight Academy.
