Assist the Youth Services Director with the supervision of the after-school program, JCAtion days, winter break camp, spring break camp and summer camp. Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing classes, programs and activities for youth of all ages. Research and develop new programs.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum two years college; degree preferred. Prior experience in children's program planning, camps, afterschool programs and supervision preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Skills in oral communications, interviewing, and selecting are required.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. This function requires the abilities to calculate, compare, diagnose, estimate and verify.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to work with computer software program:Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Familiar with copiers, fax machines, and calculators.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.The employee is also required to stand and move throughout the building and on trips off-site. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and might occasionally need to lift young children to aid staff in the event of an emergency.
The working conditions are located on a one level floor with no steps, air- conditioned and on the bus route.The employee must be able to tolerate heat for outdoor portions of the day while on the playground.The noise level is usually noisy.
