Program Area Leaders (PALs) are responsible for developing curriculum, teaching and supervising a specific program area at Camp. PALs must be a positive role model, camper focused, and able to set and follow through with camper expectations and the program curriculum. A PAL must demonstrate sound judgment and establish a nurturing and safe environment for all campers, and staff. PALs will work in partnership with Specialists and Activity Counselors assigned to their areas and report directly to the Assistant Director.
The Program Area Leader is to be responsible for implementing an existing curriculum that includes both weekly activity periods and Shabbat morning activities. The Program Area Leader must also supervise and manage the Shabbat experience at Camp.
Program Area Responsibilities and Expectations
Lead weekly periods as assigned, using materials from the existing curriculum
Work with village staff to facilitate community participation in Shabbat services
Facilitate Friday night and Saturday morning Shabbat services, as well as Havdalah
Establish an atmosphere where staff and campers can safely explore their Judaism
Evaluate and provide developmental feedback for any staff assigned to Judaic program area
Share these responsibilities with staff assigned to Judaica program area
Be responsible for planning and executing evening programs as needed
Camp operates from Sunday, June 28th - Sunday, August 16, 2020.
Full time hours to include days, nights and weekends.
Approximately (7) paid days off during the Camp session.
