The JCCSF's Teen programs serve teens in grades 6 - 12 in a variety of social, educational, Jewish and leadership-based programs. The Teen Program Manager is responsible for overseeing programs that serves the needs of middle-and high-school teens, including afterschool, evening, weekend and holiday programming. Inclusive of this goal is working with other JCCSF departments and other youth-serving organizations, both Jewish and non-Jewish, to collaborate and to advocate for JCCSF teens. Under the supervision of the Director of School-Aged Programs, the Teen Program Manager also provides leadership, support and training to the Teen Program Coordinator, program substitutes and chaperones, tutors and vendors.
Develop, implement and oversee vision for JCCSF Teen programs
Collaborate with Director of School-Aged Programs and Teen Program Coordinator to maintain relevant and impactful programming in line with the mission of the JCCSF, including but not limited to: Club 18 Access and middle school social programming
Teen Arts Immersion Program and large-scale collaborations with the Arts & Ideas department
The Q and other LGBTQ-focused programming
Battle of the Bands and other programs with our community partners
Capacity-building programs for teens and parents, such as Babysitting Basics
Provide supervision and mentorship for Teen Program Coordinator, program staff and chaperones, tutors and contracted vendors, including timesheets, performance evaluations, hiring and goal setting
Build and manage program budgets for middle and high school programming, including grant application and reporting work as needed, monthly variance reporting and quarterly projection adjustments
Collaborate with the business systems and marketing departments on teen branding, outreach and marketing
Take on a leadership role in JCCSF Summer Camp, with specific details to be arranged with the Camp program team.
Be committed to the mission and goals of the Teen department and the JCCSF. Participate in and promote JCCSF events and programs outside of department
Represent JCCSF and its values in the Bay Area Jewish community
Other responsibilities as required
Previous experience working with teens required; desirable experience includes: the performing arts, Jewish culture, leadership training and LGBTQ programming
4-year degree, or equivalent
Strong background in teen programming
Strong leadership and mentoring skills. Ability to be a role model through excellent rapport, patience and humor.
Experience in curriculum and program development
Ability to translate Jewish culture and ideas to youth with diverse backgrounds
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with a broad spectrum of staff, partners, volunteers, funders, and program participants
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of Bay Area Jewish community
Strong computer and database skills: Microsoft Office, Salesforce, MindBody
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon employment)
Status: Benefited, exempt supervisory position.
Hours: Full-time. Event and weekend hours are required.
Schedule: Regular workdays, some evenings and weekends required.
