About the Job

The YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood seeks a Mashgiach/Assistant Chef for immediate hire. A successful Mashgiach/Assistant Chef will, under a Rabbi, ensure the kashrut of the Y's kitchen. A person in this role will check food deliveries for acceptable marks of kashrut, participate in the inspection and cleaning of vegetables, and be the key professional in ensuring appropriate kashrut for the kitchen and all food produced therein. Additionally, the Mashgiach/Assistant Chef will serve as a member of our larger kitchen team assisting in food preparation, food service, customer service, packaging, and cleanup.

Responsibilities include:

Hours Scheduled: Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Compensation for this role is $20/hour.
