Principal Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma
- BSAC certification at the earliest offering
- CPR and First Aid certification
Experience/Skills:
- Experience in working with school age children
- Ability to plan age-appropriate activities
- Knowledge of positive discipline techniques
- Ability to effectively supervise children
- Ability to communicate effectively and positively
Principal Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute age-appropriate weekly activity plan based on children's interests and including a wide variety of activity areas
- Develop activities and practices that promote the ideals and goals expressed in the Just Kids and JCC mission, including fostering enthusiasm around Jewish celebrations
- Design and maintain designated group space to provide safe and engaging opportunities for play and special interest development
- Provide constant supervision of the children and take care of their health, welfare and safety
- Build a sense of community among children, and between staff and children
- Develop relationships with and serve as contact point for parents and guardians, providing timely and relevant information about their children's participation in the program
- Maintain all written documentation as required by state licensing guidelines
- Ensure that program and environment meets all state health, safety and sanitation requirements
- Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings
- Attend any required in-service trainings on an annual basis
