Principal Responsibilities:

Description Summary:

Performs daily repair and mechanical maintenance to JCC buildings and assets.

Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of Assistant Facilities Director and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs maintenance service or repairs in one or more skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs or installations, or vehicle servicing.
  • Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
  • Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
  • Cleans and lubricates parts.
  • Gives parts list to Facilities Director to order
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • May repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and air conditioners.
  • Maintains both indoor and outdoor lighting systems
  • Position is considered emergency personnel and as such may be required to work when main building is closed or during off peak hours
  • Is Certified Pool Operator and maintains both indoor and outdoor pools and whirlpools
  • Other tasks and duties assigned by management as need arises
  • Assists with snow and ice removal and overall winter weather cleanup operation
  • Applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position. Ability to effectively communicate policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by fellow employees.
  • Use of computer and handheld electronic device. Update mobile work order system daily.

Working Conditions:

Work may be performed in areas that require special safety gear as well work permits.

Physical Demands:

Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work, such as agility, dexterity, and long periods of walking, standing, bending, carrying or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more. Wears protective clothing whenever it is required. This can include but is not limited to eye protection, gloves, boots, and respirators.
