Principal Responsibilities:

The Social Media & Program Coordinator will report to the Director of Camping Services, and is responsible for taking photos and videos, updating social media, and uploading photos on private photo sharing platforms. In addition this position will largely be in charge of camp spirit in the form of decorations, leading opening and closing ceremonies, helping plan special events and other general counselor duties.

  • Demonstrated reasoning skills and ability to make quick and sound judgment calls as well as the ability to resolve conflict with solution oriented approach
  • Possess integrity, high ethical standards and calm demeanor throughout times of high stress while exercising sound judgment


  • Shoot, edit and upload photos and videos of campers to document camp fun/activities
  • Post daily on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram
  • Create a weekly video newsletter for parents
  • Create a weekly slide show for campers
  • Post weekly photos per camp on private photo sharing platforms
  • Craft weekly email for parents the following week
  • Craft email and text communications that will be sent to parents
  • Monitor communications via Remini
  • Attend weekly fieldtrips as the photographer as directed
  • Create decorations for weekly themes
  • Provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being among all staff
  • Ensure that programs are aligned with the VOSJCC values and provides a culturally rich Jewish based camp experience while promoting a welcoming environment for all
  • Monitor safety, including enforcement of staff compliance to all policies as they pertain to the complete supervision of all campers and staff
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    WORKING CONDITIONS / LOCATION: Exposed to outdoor weather, extreme heat and health club environment

    SCHEDULE: Non-Exempt Seasonal Full-time

    - During camp days: Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm w/30 min unpaid lunch

    - As well as department events as directed

    - Hours may vary depending on camp needs

    COMPENSATION: $15.00 per hour


  • Must be able to work in an outside environment, in excessive heat and walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Commitment and ability to work full 10 weeks of camp (May 26-August 2) and training dates (May 17th-20th)
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Familiarity with photography and proficiency in photo and design editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, etc.
  • Highly organized, have the ability to multi-task, and think/work quickly and efficiently, and demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (particularly Facebook, Instagram, Remini and smugmug)
  • Command of Microsoft Office including, Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook and photo editing software
  • Preferred 1 year professional experience working with youth grades K-12
  • Preferred 1 years' experience in camp related field
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (employees responsibility to obtain)
  • Pass TB test (to be paid by JCC)
  • Pass fingerprint clearance (to be paid by JCC)

    Located on the 32-acre Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus in North Scottsdale, the aesthetics and architecture of the building are unparalleled. We strive to provide an exceptional member experience in a friendly, well-maintained, state-of-the art facility.

    The center's Olympic size pool is home to our youth swim team and offers up to eleven lanes for your daily lap routine. Individual and group swim lessons for all ages and water aerobic classes, as well as competitive swim skill-building instruction are the heart of the aquatics program. We also offer a gated-children's activity pool, splash pad and Sunday Funday poolside events, terrific for the whole family.

    The campus also features seven multi-use classrooms, a dedicated game room/teen lounge, arts and crafts room, teaching kitchen and state-of-the-art Early Childhood Center for infants through Pre-K, as well as an outdoor sports court/playground and amphitheater.

    As a kosher campus, the onsite Caf?; Milk and Honey serves a dairy and non-meat menu featuring American, Italian, Mexican and Israeli cusine and also offers kosher catering. The cafe and catering service are under the supervision of the Greater Phoenix Va'ad Hakashruth.

    Ample, well-lighted parking is provided with special senior citizen parking added to our designated handicapped parking spaces.

    The Campus offers multi-purpose social hall rental for private, community and Jewish religious events.


    The Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center (VOSJCC) offers a wide range of educational, cultural, social, fitness and recreational programs for people of all ages and backgrounds.
