Spend part of your summer making a real difference in the lives of children dealing with cancer while enjoying the fresh air and the sunshine.
Sunrise Day Camp on Long Island, New York (located in Wheatly Heights just east of the Nassau/Suffolk border), is looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to assist the children and staff in adhering to our Covid-19 protocols this summer. No health-related experience is necessary - just a real desire to help children enjoy their summer safety.
The successful candidate should be comfortable in a supervisory position and available Monday-Friday, from now until August 13th. The position requires a confident individual who can blend into the camp setting, gently reminding both staff and campers to adhere to our safety guidelines, including mask wearing where needed and social distancing. In the tumult of a camp day, it is easy to forget that we are still dealing with Covid-19 and need to gather safely. The Health and Safety Coordinator is charged with identifying breaches in protocol and assisting counselors to gently correct the situation. The Coordinator will report directly to the Camp Director and will be part of the team that reviews and revises safety protocols as needed. He/She/They will make a real difference this summer in assuring that children with cancer can safety enjoy their summer.
