The Westside JCC ECC is an eight room facility with the capacity for one hundred plus children ages 20 months to 5 years. The seventeen teaching and one administrative staff members of the ECC are employed through a collective bargaining agreement. Our teachers encourage the children to explore their world through play based learning. The ECC is support by four pillars: Heart - a warm, welcoming, and diverse community that cares about its families; Standards - experienced, nurturing teachers who use play and art based curriculum in order to inspire development; Flexibility - flexible hours and a variety of schedules to meet our families where they are; Jewish - we are proudly guided by Jewish values and open to all. Assistant Teachers report to the Director of Early Childhood Education and work in collaboration and at the direction of Teachers. The position is part time non-exempt. They lead arts and craft projects, support the learning environment and supervise outdoor and indoor play, while nurturing and support the children's needs. The effective candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills who strives to engage directly with preschoolers and support their creative play.
