Position Summary
The David Posnack Jewish Community Center (DPJCC) seeks a dynamic, relationship-driven Director of Philanthropy to help lead and grow the organization's philanthropic efforts.
The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies that inspire donors, sponsors, and community partners to invest in the mission and future of the DPJCC. The Director will cultivate and steward donor relationships, lead fundraising campaigns and initiatives, identify new sources of philanthropic support, and help strengthen a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization and community and Broward County.
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic development professional who combines strategic thinking, creativity, strong relationship-building skills, and hands-on execution with a passion for connecting people to purpose.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Philanthropic Strategy & Fundraising
Partner with the Chief Philanthropy Officer to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy designed to increase philanthropic revenue, strengthen donor retention, attract new supporters, and expand the DPJCC's donor community.
Establish and track fundraising goals, strategies, timelines, and performance measures.
Identify and develop new opportunities for support through major gifts, annual giving, sponsorships, special campaigns, planned giving, and other philanthropic initiatives.
Design and lead creative fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events that engage the community, advance the DPJCC's mission, and achieve financial goals.
Evaluate fundraising initiatives and recommend strategies to improve results, donor engagement, and return on investment.
Donor Development & Stewardship
Build and manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors, identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individuals with the potential to increase their philanthropic investment in the DPJCC.
Develop personalized strategies to deepen donor relationships and move prospects toward meaningful philanthropic commitments.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, board members, volunteers, staff, community leaders, businesses, foundations, and other philanthropic partners.
Conduct donor meetings, tours, presentations, and solicitations independently and in partnership with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, executive leadership, board members, and volunteer leaders.
Travel may be required between various sites in South Florida, including Davie and Fort Lauderdale site
Organize and manage special events for donors, sponsors, corporate partners and prospects.
Communications, Community & Partnerships
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling fundraising messaging, appeals, proposals, sponsorship materials, donor communications, and stories that demonstrate the impact of philanthropy.
Engage board members and volunteer leaders in donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and community outreach.
Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships that expand the DPJCC's visibility, Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for the DPJCC at donor meetings, community programs, networking opportunities, and special events.
Fundraising Operations & Accountability
Develop and manage budgets for assigned fundraising programs and initiatives, ensuring resources are used effectively to achieve fundraising goals.
Monitor fundraising performance and provide regular reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer on progress toward goals, campaign results, and opportunities for growth.
Maintain accurate donor and prospect information, contact reports and fundraising projections in the organization's donor database, Daxko.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Minimum of three years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising, nonprofit development, or a related field.
Demonstrated success developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies and cultivating donor relationships.
Experience soliciting and stewarding donors and moving prospects toward increased philanthropic commitments.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate an organization's mission and impact in a compelling way.
Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a collaborative, community-centered environment.
Experience with donor databases/CRM systems and standard business technology.
Ability and willingness to participate in evening and weekend events and donor activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a Jewish communal organization, community center, educational institution, cultural organization, human-services organization, or other mission-driven nonprofit.
Experience with major gifts, annual giving, sponsorships, special events, planned giving, or capital campaigns.
Knowledge of the South Florida philanthropic and business community.
Experience with Daxko platform
Salary:
$105,000 - $120,000
