SUMMARY:
The Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC Children's Theatre Production Company (CTPC) is seeking a resident Musical Director for the upcoming 2023/2024 fiscal year. The ideal candidate is an arts education professional who will work closely with the Arts & Culture staff to help build upon and expand all JCC CTPC programming that involves music. The ideal musical director is prepared and eager to be a role model within their field, for the Center of Arts & Culture, and the JCC as a whole.

We welcome staff and participants from diverse backgrounds and actively strive to provide an open and welcoming setting, irrespective of personal practices, beliefs, or backgrounds. We expect our musical director will create an equitable classroom environment by performing their duties with empathetic understanding towards every student, regardless of their gender, sexuality, race, ability, or identity.
Will be supervised by and work closely with the director of youth arts education. Experience and a love for teaching children of all ages, as well as extensive experience in their art form, is imperative. Submissions with musical directing, performance, and/or teaching reels are highly preferred.
COMMITMENT:
September 2023-February 2024, mostly Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings. Also, must attend necessary production meetings as well as tech week rehearsals for each production. Looking to staff the musical director for the duration of CTPC JR & CTPC Teen's main stage musical production, as well as CTPC Kids separate but intimate side stage production (both productions to be announced.) This includes helping with theatre and audition prep classes at the beginning of the production process, as well as assisting with auditions, before being rehearsals for said productions. Estimated 4-5 hours a week. Availability to also teach private voice lessons is also highly desired. Upon completion of these sessions and evaluation from the supervisor, will then discuss future employment and availability.
