Principal Responsibilities:
The Teen Community Collaborator position engages Jewish teens year-round through the Merage JCC, BBYO, and community partnerships. This position creates meaningful opportunities and experiences grounded in Jewish values, fostering a culture where teens feel connected, safe, heard, and empowered.
The Teen Community Collaborator engages teens in Merage JCC programs and annual initiatives, including JCC Global Teens, JCC Maccabi, and Young Philanthropists, while developing new opportunities that connect Jewish teens throughout Orange County. The role also manages Orange County BBYO, building teen communities and chapters and developing a robust calendar of programs and leadership opportunities. Key responsibilities include building relationships with teens and parents, community collaboration, communications, outreach, and recruitment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Communications and community collaboration
- Build strong relationships with teens, families, advisors, alumni and community partners to deepen engagement opportunities, and Jewish community.
- Develop and execute effective communications and recruitment strategies--including digital and social media, direct outreach, and peer-to-peer engagement--to drive measurable growth in teen participation.
- Coordinate with congregational and Jewish agency partners and BBYO to execute annual community-wide programs (Global Shabbat, JTeens Day of Service, and the yearly Chai Tide program)
- Develop teen leadership teams to coordinate the events
- Oversee the planning, recruitment, and execution of all events
- Engage 300-500 teens in J and collaborative programs
- Coordinate with Jewish agency partners on recruitment and planning
Merage JCC programming
- JCC Maccabi
- Work with the Maccabi Delegation Team, led by Senior Director of Fitness, to serve as a Delegation Head managing the group of teens traveling to the JCC Maccabi Games
- Market program to recruit a growing number of teens
- Ensure all administrative tasks are complete including registrations and travel arrangements
- Travel with teens, communicating with families and ensuring the safety of the teens
- Young Philanthropists
- Recruit teens to participate in an annual philanthropic program
- Work with the Center for Jewish Life to deliver learning opportunities about giving and nonprofits
- JCC Global Teens
- Develop a teen leadership program with an emphasis on Jewish Peoplehood - temporarily on hold
- Market program to recruit growing number of teens
- Travel with teens, communicating with families and ensuring the safety of the teens
BBYO in OC
- Serve as BBYO's Orange County City Director and a member of the Pacific Western Region staff team
- Support and grow local BBYO chapters throughout Orange County through membership recruitment, leadership development, and chapter support
- Coach and mentor teen leaders as they plan programs, build community, and lead their peers
- Lead the planning, recruitment, and execution of Orange County BBYO programs and city-wide events
- Support regional BBYO programs and experiences as the Orange County staff representative.
Salary:
$65,000 - $75,000
