Principal Responsibilities:

Position Summary
The Afterschool Teacher Substitute will be responsible for supporting the Berkeley Afterschool program at the Jewish Community Center of the East Bay when called upon. A substitute teacher can expect they will be subbing for a core "pod" of kids that they will be working with for the entire day (11:45am - 5:45pm). The pod has its own space to be utilized for activities and as a home base for supplies and is welcome to go outdoors and enjoy local parks nearby.

Minimum Qualifications:

Examples of Duties

Supervise children, including planning, preparation and implementation of developmental programming for your age group
Assist in keeping all Afterschool spaces organized and operational
Assist in disinfecting classroom after all students are dismissed
Assist in implementing COVID- 19 health and safety protocols
Collaborate with Program Directors in building curriculum

Qualifications

Must have experience working with children grades K - 5 and be able to plan appropriate activities for different age groups.
Applicant must provide the appropriate documentation to meet California Community Childcare Licensing requirements for this position.
Must be at least 18 years old and a High School graduate. College degree preferred.
Be committed to developing a positive learning environment for children.
Ability to be a team player.
Qualified candidates must be available Monday through Friday from 11:45pm to5:45pm.

Pay: $16.07 - $19.27 per hour
