Principal Responsibilities:

Wellness Director

JCC MetroWest in West Orange, New Jersey is seeking a full-time Wellness Director, who will report to the Fitness and Aquatics General Manager. The Wellness Director represents and leads JCC MetroWest in initiatives and policy impacting health integration in the community and promotes all of the JCC programming and membership to the community as part of their networking and outreach initiatives. The Wellness Director will (1) supervise the daily operations related to the MetroWest portfolio of evidence-based programs; (2) provide support and guidance to all staff to ensure that the programs achieve quality performance outcomes; (3) deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment; and (4) provide oversight and successful benchmarks and success factors for grants including providing appropriate budgeting and reporting of activities and results.

Among other things, the Wellness Director will:

• Serve as a conduit between the JCC and the community and be able to speak to the JCC's direction and support of healthy communities.
• Develop and execute a networking and outreach plan that focuses on public health organizations and agencies as well as health care organizations and providers to build a robust referral network and to launch meaningful collaborative initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison, ambassador and advocate for the program within public health, physician and payer communities.
• Oversee certain grants and programs with appropriate reporting of success milestones and benchmarks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in public health or related field required.
• Public Health or Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of public health, health promotion and health education program development (design, assessment and planning), implementation and evaluation including evidence-based practices of chronic disease prevention. Knowledge of health systems, strategic planning and local resources.
• Must be able to facilitate group discussions and participate in community-level meetings and relationships in ways that foster collaboration and cooperation among all those involved. Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must have the ability to build strong relationships and inspire confidence and work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders (physicians, public health officials, employers, payers, health seekers and senior leaders, instructors, and lifestyle coaches).
• Must be able to speak comfortably and knowledgeably in front of others, as needed.
• Must be flexible to work with a wide variety of people and environments.
• Ability to travel using private vehicle, as needed.

Salary:

$65,000 - $75,000
