Are you a great motivator and coach who loves being in the pool? SJCC is hiring Swim Instructors to support our growing swim school teaching everyone from kids to adults. We provide training and ongoing opportunities for certification and professional development. Weekend and evening shifts available.
Swim Instructors are responsible for maintaining a safe class environment for all swimmers while teaching an effective and appropriate lesson curriculum for beginner to advanced students.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Certificates and Licenses: The following certificates are preferred but not required
Physical Demands: To perform the job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, walk, swim, paddle, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, climb, balance, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to lift, push, and/or pull persons or equipment over 100 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Conditions: The work is frequently performed around or in a pool facility, with a moderate noise level. Surfaces are frequently slippery and wet.

The Stroum Jewish Community Center has been serving the greater Seattle Jewish and general community since 1949. With our 92,000 square foot main campus located on Mercer Island, the SJCC offers a wide range of programs and services throughout the greater Seattle area, serving infants to older adults, including a highly acclaimed Early Childhood School with nearly 200 children , summer day camp welcoming over 1100 kids, youth and family programs, recreational leagues, aquatics and much more.
