Principal Responsibilities:

Overview: The York JCC's Center for Learn and Play is looking for a Toddler Music & Movement Instructor to work with our Early Childhood Education classes. Candidate for this position needs to have knowledge of children's development and movement appropriate for this age group, has experience working with children ages 2 - 5, and is highly experienced teaching children in a professional setting. Class focuses on circle time, singing songs, and age-appropriate music and movement activities. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid.Overview: The York JCC's Center for Learn and Play is looking for a Children's Physical Education Instructor to work with our Early Childhood Education classes. Candidate for this position needs to have knowledge of physical education and movement appropriate for this age group, needs to be able to to work well with children ages 2-5, and is highly experienced teaching children in a professional setting. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid.

Teaching Responsibilities:

• Encourage all students to:
  • Develop the love of music and movement
  • Encourage lifetime participation and learning
  • Provide safe, enjoyable games and activities

General Responsibilities:

• Create a safe space for all children
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the area of expertise being taught
• Ability to correctly perform and teach proper skills safely
• Welcome to attend annual staff training and bi-annual All Staff meetings
• Greet all children by name and in a friendly manner
• Be an enthusiastic ambassador of the JCC
• Report all needed repairs and needed equipment to run a program to your supervisor
• Begin and end class on time

Hours:

• 2 - 4 hours per week. Classes are typically held during daytime hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Taught children in a professional setting for 100 or more hours

Teaching Requirements:

• Dress in a professional appearance
• Work professionally with supervisor to create the best experience for each child
• Keeping instructions educational, fun, and engaging
• Working to create a successful long term relationship with school staff, parents, and children
• Set up 15 minutes before class begins

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 10 pounds
• Perform movements correctly
