Identify media that can be leveraged to support LJCC; create and implement plan to address areas of opportunities.
With Communications Manager, will develop marketing strategy and ensure all marketing/branding items are accurate, timely and consistent with brand identities and LJCC policies.
Oversee the writing, editing and management of all LJCC communications, such as media contacts, releases, publications, social media (Facebook, YouTube, Linked In, Twitter, Instagram) and website. Ensure error free content.
Draft organizational response to inquiries and social media comments about LJCC.
Work with the Executive Director to create a structured plan for motivating donors/members and enticing new donors/members.
Lead the branding and marketing activities.
Create opportunities for programs and other initiatives to help increase donors/members and transactions including by utilizing marketing analytics.
Develop and maintain a positive profile and high level of community awareness for LJCC, including representing LJCC in the communities served and maintaining positive civic and professional relationships through public education programs of LJCC services and their benefits to the community.
Engage Board Members in activities that support LJCC's mission and business objectives.
Ensure that all community outreach focuses on opportunities to increase donors and members, and to build the LJCC brand.
Secure and manage strategic alliances that further the LJCC mission.
Lead initiatives and coordinate activities to execute major events like annual fundraisers and recognition events, including continually evaluating the relevance and sustainability of these functions.
Create a strategic development plan that meets the philanthropic goals
Identify, define and acquire funds to support LJCC mission programs, operations and capital needs
Manage the integrity and alignment of the database systems used for resource development information.
Evaluate, plan, coordinate, and lead events and capital campaigns.
Assist in the development of activities to establish positive working relationships with the philanthropic community in the LJCC service area to drive planned giving opportunities.
Work with the grant writer to manage the grant process to acquire appropriate grant funding; assure compliance, quality assurance, and business alignment with identified deliverables and outcomes for grants.
Demonstrates LJCC Core Values in all actions, ensures adherence to funding agency requirements.
Participates in the strategic planning process.
Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
Ability to communicate with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary; good organizational skills, well-disciplined, able to meet deadlines, self-starter, able to work under pressure of priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work effectively with volunteers; thorough understanding of LJCC philanthropic markets.
Knowledge of marketing strategies and techniques; knowledge of long-range planning process; good managerial skills; knowledge of human service trends. Must have highly developed interpersonal skills.
Must be able to facilitate the planning process, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, make presentations to large groups and work within a decentralized operation.
Excellent writing skills.
Knowledge of relevant computer software and regional media including television, print, and social.
Education, Training, and Experience:
2 - 5 years leadership experience fund raising and grant writing experience.
7 - 10 years leadership experience, preferably in the non-profit fund raising management field.
Must be able to work after-hours and weekends.
Must possess a valid driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage and a privately-owned reliable means of transportation to travel throughout Central Alabama to visit prospects, members, funders and locations as necessary.
