Summary
JCC Maccabi(r) is a signature program of the JCC Movement. Established in 1982, the JCC Maccabi(r) Games have brought together more than 150,000 teens and more than 500,000 host families, volunteers, and spectators for one-week annual Olympic-style events in host communities throughout North America. The program connects teens, JCCs, and communities from across North America and around the world to explore their Jewish identities, develop lasting memories, friendships, and connections, and make a difference in the Jewish world of today and of the future.
JCC Association of North America seeks an enthusiastic and dynamic professional to serve as Program Manager on the JCC Maccabi team. Reporting to the Program Director, this full-time position provides high-level administrative, operational, programmatic, and organizational support to the JCC Maccabi program.
Successful candidates are dedicated and competent professionals with strong verbal and written skills; are highly organized, detail-oriented, hard-working, and capable of tackling multiple projects at a time; and are comfortable in customer- and stakeholder-facing roles in addition to enjoying "back-end" support, digital, and data management work. They work well independently but also thrive as committed members of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Support
Support the JCC Maccabi program in ensuring strong, well-resourced delegations and progress toward participation goals, including delivering high-quality training and support for Delegation Heads and coaches, and helping build a positive, well-organized experience for every JCC Maccabi delegation.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as a Delegation Head (DH) liaison, providing DHs across the field with monthly trainings and resources to support successful athlete recruitment and delegation management for the JCC Maccabi Games.
- Assist in designing, managing, and delivering DH and coach trainings, webinars, and supporting resources to help ensure the success of each JCC Maccabi delegation.
- Coordinate the Delegation Head Mentor/Mentee Program, connecting first- and second-year DHs with veteran DHs to guide them through recruitment and preparation for the JCC Maccabi Games.
- Support the Program Director in developing and stewarding organizational collaborations and partnerships.
- Under the direction of the Program Director, work to develop new programmatic initiatives (e.g., Jr. Maccabi, alumni engagement, year-round teen programming, and partnerships).
- Develop and implement curriculum for the JCC Maccabi Teen International Leadership Board, made up of teenage JCC Maccabi athletes and alumni, to build leadership abilities, gather input on shaping the JCC Maccabi program, and develop skills in team collaboration, communication, and relationship building.
- Develop and deliver program surveys and support evaluation strategy and implementation.
- Assist in cross-functional collaboration within JCC Association departments (e.g., program departments, marketing, finance, CRM implementation).
- With support from the Program Director, build a continental delegation (the J-Team) when needed by recruiting or re-engaging athletes, coaches, and volunteers, and play a lead role in all associated operational and programmatic efforts, including overseeing and managing logistics related to registration, travel, uniforms and swag, and sport-specific positions.
Administrative and Operational Support
- Develop resources for the JCC Resource Center and Delegation Toolkit.
- Support the process of DH and coach training.
- Work with the Program Director to cultivate new strategies for efficient administration and program support.
- Manage program merchandising, including research, pricing, ordering, inventorying, and shipping program supplies.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
- Provide on-the-ground support during the week(s) of JCC Maccabi to host communities, DHs, and the JCC Maccabi staff team.
- Interact and communicate with the host community, delegation heads and coaches, JCC Association team, parents, coaches, and athletes to help ensure a safe and positive experience for all participants.

Travel
- Some travel anticipated throughout the year for site visits, Spring DH Meeting, and other JCC Association related events and gatherings as assigned.
- Travel to the host community for the week(s) of JCC Maccabi each summer (see "At the Games" above).
- Some periodic travel to New York headquarters (if a remote employee).
Compensation and Benefits
JCC Association offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:
- Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000 annual

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience
Required
- Fluent in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with great attention to detail
- Flexible, detail-oriented, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with CRMs/databases, survey software, social media platforms, and basic website design tools
- Ability to travel up to 15-20 percent of the time
- Entrepreneurial spirit -- a "make it happen" attitude and approach
- High degree of maturity, adaptability, and initiative
- Sports-minded and service-focused, with a demonstrated passion for the mission
- College graduate
- Two or more years of professional experience
- Involvement with nonprofits and/or the North American Jewish community; experience with JCC Maccabi and/or JCCs is a plus
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or requiring sponsorship is required.
