Our evening/weekend Customer Service Receptionist should have a personal touch and the ability to make anyone walking through our doors feel welcome and wanted. He/she/they is responsible for providing courteous and efficient service, including supplying information and responding to inquiries regarding Sid Jacobson JCC to employees, members, and public over the phone and face-to-face. This position is in Nassau County, Long Island.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and welcome staff, members and guests in a warm and friendly manner as soon as they arrive and answer any questions they have
• Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
• Answer, screen and forward internal/external phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
• Ensure reception area & mailroom are always tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and member brochures)
• Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
• Receive and sort daily mail and deliveries
• Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor ID's, etc.)
• Provide coverage for the security officer as needed
• Order agency-wide supplies and take and maintain inventory of supplies and restock as needed
• Work in partnership with the Membership Department
• Respond to basic membership related inquiries
• Take potential members on tours
• Participate in membership related agency events
• Assist with member and non-member registration
• Perform administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and emailing
• Other duties as directed by supervisor
• Training staff for customer service role as they are on boarded

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in an office environment and hands-on experience with office equipment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Exceptional multi-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks with limited guidance
• Superior customer service skills and friendly demeanor and professional attitude and appearance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
• Team player with excellent organizational skills
• Punctual and strong attendance history
• Previous sales experience preferred but not required
• Flexibility required
