The Operations Lead will report to the Director of Camping Services. The primary role of this position is to support all camp functions for seamless operations on a day-to-day-basis. Typical functions will be to help facilitate AM sign in, AM drive up drop off, reconcile camper numbers, set up snack for AM and PM, facilitate camp store sales, assist with loading campers safely on buses during field trips, facilitate PM pick up, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend multi-day summer camp training and in-service camp training's and meetings
Assist with pre-summer camp set up and post-camp tear down Mitigate risk wherever possible and make safety recommendations to the Camp Director Monitor safety, including enforcement of staff compliance to all policies as they pertain to the complete supervision of all campers and staff. Provide administrative and management support to the Camp Leadership team Responsible for daily camp set up which includes but is not limited to: filling and delivering water jugs, setting up canopies, prepping camp spaces and supplies, set up and help facilitate AM/PM, sign in/out, setting up the outdoor area for camper drop off as well facilitate, set up, help serve and clean up AM/PM snack, set up and facilitate camp store sales, help load campers on buses during field trips, reconcile daily camper numbers, etc. Purchase camp supplies as needed Clean, fuel camp vans Secure and help set up program areas for special events, activities, etc. Set up and clean up materials for camp activities Inventory program supplies which includes but is not limited to snack, ice cream, camp store, first aid supplies, etc. Chaperone field trips as needed and support staff in areas including but not limited to ensuring every field trip has water, snacks, emergency folders, contact info for place visiting, walkie-talkies, as well as adhering to the highest level of safety, etc. Provide general supervision in areas such as: gathering times, snack, lunch, pool, rock wall, field trips, etc. Uphold participants, camp counselors and volunteers in accordance with JCC, DHS and ACA compliance standards and best practices Ensure for the health, safety, and welfare of all campers in any area or programs at camp Provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being among all staff Provide a superior customer service experience to campers, families, and vendors Other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS / LOCATION: Exposed to outdoor weather, extreme heat and health club environment
SCHEDULE: Non-Exempt Seasonal Part-Time
- Mandatory Camp Training
- May 17th (9:00am-5:30pm)
- May 18th-20th (3:00pm-9:30pm)
- Camp Season: May 26th-July 31st
- Only allow up to 5 days off
- Camp Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm w/1 to 2 hour lunch break
- Camp cleanup day Saturday August 2nd (8:30am-4:30pm)
- As well as department events as directed
- Hours may vary depending on camp needs
COMPENSATION: $12.75 per hour and .25 for every previous Shemesh Summer worked
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / DEMANDS:
Able to stand for prolonged time in a classroom setting
Must be able to work in an outside environment, in excessive heat and walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to have the capable of lifting 50 pounds and carry and move tables, chairs, and other program equipment.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE/ SPECIALIZED TRAINING:
At least 21 years of age
Minimum one year in operations coordination - camp or camp like field preferred Minimum two year professional experience working with youth grades K-12Commitment and ability to work full 10 weeks of camp (May 26-August 2) and training dates (May 17th-20th)Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Current First Aid and CPR certification (employees responsibility to obtain) Pass TB test (to be paid by JCC) Pass fingerprint clearance (to be paid by JCC) Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving history for the past 18 months Able to pass a drug & alcohol test & tested at random there after

We also offer a gated-children's activity pool, splash pad and Sunday Funday poolside events, terrific for the whole family.
The campus also features seven multi-use classrooms, a dedicated game room/teen lounge, arts and crafts room, teaching kitchen and state-of-the-art Early Childhood Center for infants through Pre-K, as well as an outdoor sports court/playground and amphitheater.
As a kosher campus, the onsite Caf?; Milk and Honey serves a dairy and non-meat menu featuring American, Italian, Mexican and Israeli cusine and also offers kosher catering. The cafe and catering service are under the supervision of the Greater Phoenix Va'ad Hakashruth.
Ample, well-lighted parking is provided with special senior citizen parking added to our designated handicapped parking spaces.
The Campus offers multi-purpose social hall rental for private, community and Jewish religious events.
