Principal Responsibilities:
Kids' Place Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a comprehensive, licensed afterschool program and providing leadership and direction to ensure its efficient operation. Duties and responsibilities include communication with both internal and external stakeholders, development and implementation of innovative programming, recruitment, training and supervision of staff, and fiscal oversight. During the summer months, the Kids' Place Director will serve as the Assistant Camp Director at Camp Hilbert, the Weinstein JCC's 110-acre outdoor day camp, planning and implementing key programs and providing hands-on supervision and support to campers and counselors. This position is both managerial and hands-on in nature. During the summer months, the Kids' Place Director will report directly to the Youth and Camp Hilbert Director.

Kids' Place Director:
- Act as the lead promoter of Weinstein JCC's afterschool program, Kids' Place, articulating its value and driving recruitment, enrollment and retention.
- Set the vision and objectives for achieving high programmatic quality, enrollment retention and growth goals.
- Create and manage an annual budget with a focus on increasing revenue and optimizing efficiencies whenever possible.
- Ensure all security, technology, and operational protocols are clearly implemented and consistently followed across the program.
- Hire, train and supervise Kids' Place full and part-time staff, including bus and van drivers.
- Manage staff scheduling departmental payroll.
- Create, curate and schedule developmentally-appropriate activities for children, ensuring a fun, engaging and safe program for all.
- Plan and implement van routes for after-school pickup.
- Work closely with the Director of Facility Operations to ensure the fleet of vehicles is well-maintained, fully functional and contain all required, up-to-date emergency supplies.
- Build positive relationships with both current and prospective Kids' Place families.
- Partner with the Youth and Camp Hilbert Director and/or other Weinstein JCC staff to implement school-aged programs throughout the year.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Direct and manage all aspects of the program, serving as the main point of contact for staff, parents and students and instilling a positive culture instilled with Jewish values.
- Ensure ongoing program compliance, according to licensing requirements, in all areas of operation and programming.
Camp Hilbert Assistant Director:
- Assist the Youth and Camp Hilbert Director in the implementation of the Camp Hilbert summer camp program, including but not limited to, registration and enrollment management, transportation and operational procedures, staff and program development and management.
- Plan and oversee key aspects of the camp program as directed by the Camp Hilbert Director.
- Provide hands-on and timely support and assistance to camp counselors dealing with challenging camper behaviors and/or group dynamics throughout the camp day.
- Assist in the implementation of staff training.
- Provide appropriate feedback and information to staff and parents as needed in order to provide a successful camp season.
- Set a good example to campers and others in regard to general camp procedures and practices.
- Provide quality customer service and work cooperatively with people at all levels with respect.
- Help create an environment which attracts volunteer support and revenue growth.
- Follow personnel policies of the Center as described in the Weinstein JCC employee handbook.
Other Responsibilities:
- Honor confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Maintain a positive and appropriate relationship with children, parents, and staff
- Able to adapt and respond appropriately to any emergencies, and daily changes of Kids' Place and/or Camp Hilbert.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, education, or other related field.
- One to three years of management experience in a school or camp setting.
- Knowledge of Jewish culture, heritage and tradition.
- Possess a passion for working with children.
- Experience in a leadership role working with children in a group setting and well-versed in child development
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to make sound judgments and decisions in a calm manner.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Creativity and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient with computer technology
- Ability to work nights and weekends, flexible scheduling depending on department needs.
- Must be on-site when after school and camp programs and activities are in session.
- Must have enthusiasm, be adaptable and possess a strong work ethic.
- Must demonstrate good character and integrity.
- CPR, AED and First Aid certification (or the ability to obtain)
- Must have a valid driver's license, personal automobile liability insurance and acceptable driving record.

Salary:
$55,000 - $65,000
