Principal Responsibilities:
The JCC is looking to fill the role of Special Events & Experiences Manager to support donor stewardship, acknowledgement, and events. This person will manage special events, pledges and donations, build relationships, and be accountable for the integrity of the development database. This is a 40 hour per week, overtime exempt position supervised by the Director of Development.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising & Stewardship Events:
- Oversee implementation of all fundraising and donor stewardship events
- Serve as project manager; responsible for creating and managing event budgets, logistics, and timelines
- Engage JCC staff/lay leaders/volunteers for fundraising event committees
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to execute communications consistent with JCC messaging priorities
- Build and maintain relationships with event vendors
- Collaborate with Director of Corporate Relations and Grants Management in an effort to raise sponsorship income for events
Process, Systems & Database Management:
- Responsible for development data entry and reporting within the database
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of database by ensuring all information is current and correct
- Ensure proper entry and receipt of donations
- Coordinate with Finance department to ensure consistency, including monthly reconciliations
- Monitor open pledges and send pledge reminders and invoices
- Manage donation gratitude process, including creation of acknowledgement letters and assignment of thank you calls
- Provide support to various committees and volunteers during fundraising campaigns and events
Minimum Qualifications:

- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member

- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to organize and complete complex tasks and deliver them on a timely basis
- Experience creating and scaling new initiatives and overseeing large-scale events with demonstrated success
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating patience and professional demeanor
- Ability to discern when to stay the course and when to adapt to changes in the environment; consider new ideas and opportunities with curiosity and savviness
- Event planning experience preferred
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software skills
Physical Requirements:
- Work in various settings (inside, outside, standing, sitting, moving throughout the day)
- Lift 20 pounds
- Work on a computer for many hours per day
