The Older Transportation and Engagement Manager is responsible for the oversight and day to day operations of Get Up & Go (GU&G). The Get Up and Go Program, provides a weekly older adult socialization program and more than 3,000 life sustaining and life enhancing rides for seniors (via staff and volunteer drivers). Get Up & Go is a part of the Adult Department at the Peninsula JCC, which also includes trips, classes and leisure activities for adults of all ages. This position also supports agency-wide transportation needs in collaboration with other departments.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in social work, gerontology or related field is recommended. A minimum of 3 years of related experience. Master's Degree in Gerontology or Clinical Social Work is a plus. Knowledge or interest in learning about Jewish practice, holidays, and culture required. Has knowledge and an understanding of the needs of the elderly and of available community resources to meet those needs. Must possess valid driver's license, willingness to obtain commercial driver's license strongly preferred.
