Principal Responsibilities:

The position entails working collaboratively with the camp and community teams. This position leads the design and execution of year-round teen initiatives, oversees the Teen Travel Program at Mid-Island Day Camp, and plays a key role in building meaningful experiences for teens both during the summer and throughout the year.

Key Areas of Responsibility :

Creatively design, implement, and oversee engaging year-round teen programs, including Saturday night events, travel camp reunions, and specialized teen programs.

Actively recruit teens from the community and lead teen leadership development programs that foster growth and connection.

Plan and attend all teen-focused events and marketing initiatives to promote programs and build relationships.

Supervise and help plan the Teen Travel Program during the summer, ensuring a safe, enriching, and memorable experience.

Hire and manage instructors for testing review and tutoring programs; organize and oversee all spring Regents review courses.

Collaborate with the Camp Program Supervisor to sell, plan, and manage off-season camp birthday parties.

Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and support staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.

Take ownership of the Teen Lounge's atmosphere, including decoration, upkeep, and functionality.

Develop and implement new initiatives to increase teen participation and engagement across all programs.

Identify and pursue new opportunities to support organizational growth and sustainability.

Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant tools to support program operations.

Model the organization's mission, values, and guiding principles through professional conduct, appearance, and communication.

Create a welcoming and positive environment for all participants, ensuring high-quality interactions and experiences.

Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the success of the camp and teen programs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position includes supervisory responsibilities during the camp season.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours are, Sunday-Thursday.


Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree is required, Masters in Social Work or equivalent preferred- Minimum of two years working with children and adolescents, with some program management experience, preferably in designing and implementing programs for teenagers.

Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000
