Principal Responsibilities:
The Director of Finance serves as the financial officer of the Jewish Federation of Tulsa (JFT). The position is responsible for overseeing and directing all financial and administrative activities of the JFT, including accounting, budgeting, financial planning and reporting, internal audit, facility management, human resources and information systems. The Director of Finance is supervised by and works closely with the Executive Director and other members of the executive staff and board of directors to assure that JFT is fiscally responsible, in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and furthers its overall mission and objectives.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Financial Management
- Manage accounting staff on accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and rules for non-profits
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
- Oversees organization general ledger and budget management functions, including preparation of the annual budget
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for review, (including explanations for variance analysis) and prepares cash flow analysis
- Direct annual audit and 990 processes, serving as the principal liaison to the external auditor
- Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors
Human Resource, Technology and Administration
- Advise on appropriate technology that meets the organization's information requirements and financial resources
- Maintaining and enforcing procedures around technology and telecommunication
- Liaising between JFT and outside IT consultants in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting.
- Oversee the management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments
- Process new hire documentation
- Assist in orientation and training of new personnel
- Maintain personnel records and leave reports
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor degree in accounting or finance and 5+ years relevant experience
- CPA preferred
- Non-profit accounting experience is highly preferred
- Strong operational accounting experience required, preferably including budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel & Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, internal controls, cash management and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge and experience in design & monitor of internal controls
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred
- Management experience
- Experience in grants, budgeting and reports
- Knowledge of basic compliance requirements and best practices in human resource management
- Self- starter, flexible, able to multitask while also highly detail oriented
Salary:
$85,000 - $95,000
