The Fitness Desk Receptionist is the face of the JCC Fitness Department. They are the front line and hold the great responsibility of creating a warm welcoming member's experience. Staff must take the initiative to greet, and assist all members as well as be able to communicate and relate well with others. Staff members are responsible for customer service and satisfaction for all of the JCC Fitness Wing.

The work environment at the JCC Fitness Desk is fast paced with every day being different from the last. This job requires high energy and customer service including; member engagement, offering greetings, assisting members with purchases, listening to member inquiries patiently and referring to supervisor when necessary. The membership is made up of a diverse population with varying needs. Staff must be able to work effectively with people from all different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be on their feet for the majority of the shift. The employee may occasionally be required to lift a maximum of 45lbs.The employee will also have frequent interactions with cleaning products including but not limited to surface wipes and disinfectant spray.
