Principal Responsibilities:

SUMMARY:

The Director of Arts Education is a creative arts administrator and educator responsible for developing, managing, and growing arts education experiences primarily serving children, teens, and families.

Working collaboratively with the Center for Arts & Culture and Gordon Center teams, the Director of Arts Education provides creative vision and operational leadership for a diverse portfolio of programs including children's theater, dance, summer arts programming, and additional arts experiences based on community needs, organizational priorities, and the Director's areas of expertise.

This position creates high-quality arts experiences that reflect the vibrant and diverse communities we serve while providing opportunities for creativity, learning, connection, and meaningful engagement in a safe and welcoming environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Center for Arts & Culture is a dynamic, creative, and often fast-paced environment. The Director of Arts Education regularly interacts with children, families, teaching artists, JCC staff, community organizations, vendors, artists, and outside partners.

The position includes a combination of administrative work, classroom and rehearsal environments, performances, community events, and summer camp programming.

The position requires flexibility in scheduling. Summer responsibilities generally take place Monday through Friday, with orientations, meetings, and special programs as required. Year-round responsibilities may include daytime, evening, and weekend hours based on classes, rehearsals, performances, and events.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to:

? Sit, stand, and walk for varying periods of time.

? Use a computer and other standard office equipment.

? Reach with hands and arms and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.

? Assist with moving props, scenery, equipment, art supplies, and other program materials.

? Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.

Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000
