The Early Childhood Center at the JCCMW is hiring a Lead Nursery School Teacher for our White Plains school.Position will be responsible for the general supervision and management of a group of children and will work in cooperation with and under the supervision of the Nursery School Director. This candidate must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well with children and be willing to fulfill the job responsibilities in accordance with the programs philosophies. This candidate must be able to maintain a professional manner towards the children, families and co-workers at all times and be able to communicate professionally and openly. The person selected for this position must possess the educational requirements of a lead teacher as outlined by the program's licensing agency (minimum of a CDA is required).
Essential Functions
Bachelor's degree including or in addition to, 12 credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field
or
Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field
or
Child Development Associate and 1 year experience related to caring for children
or
9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field with a plan of study leading to one of the above and 2 year experience related to caring for children
