The Bender Jewish Community Center in Rockville, Maryland is a premier community center at the heart of Jewish life in Montgomery County, operating a full-scale health and fitness center, pre-school, day camp and variety of education and arts programs.

Our preschool teachers are essential to the Bender JCC, creating a warm, engaging, and safe environment and community for our students. The Bender Early Childhood Center is one of our core programs, and our associate teachers are central to the functioning of the school. What You'll Do:
- Ensure a high quality experience for our students and families, consistent with our values and licensing requirements.
- Be a life-long learner, open to feedback and mentoring, and seeking professional growth opportunities.
- Take initiative to be a partner in planning and implementation of lessons in the classroom, with a willingness to take a leadership role when the lead teacher is absent
- Develop and convey a familiarity with Jewish rituals and customs, while creating a warm and welcoming community for or diverse student body
- Provide open and timely communication with your teammates regarding concerns related to the class, the team, or the school community.
- Take pride in the physical environment of the class and school, ensuring the class and school are clean, organized, safe, and presentable.
- Stay up-to-date on licensing requirements, including annual continuing education hours

You should have:
- First Aid and CPR training and certification.
- 4 year College Degree*
or
- 90-hour certificate in early childhood curriculum & development or early childhood coursework with 1 year experience working with preschool children in an approved center or equivalent work experience.
- Physical ability to ensure the safety and care of the children, including, but not limited to, lifting up to 40 lbs, carrying and chasing children.
- Desire and ability to work in a team environment
- Required COVID-19 vaccination
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time exempt position, with a salary starting at $37,500, commensurate with experience. The Bender JCC provides a benefits package that includes 403b, medical, dental, and vision benefits, Paid Time Off (PTO), and a flexible working environment. You'll also receive a full family membership to the Bender JCC, including complete access to the entire fitness facility and pools, plus staff discounts on programs and services.
