Principal Responsibilities:

Camp counselors will engage kids in fun day-to-day programming and activities at camp. They will know each camper by name, and compassionately and thoughtfully resolve camper conflicts. They will work collaboratively with co-counselors and fellow camp staff to ensure that camp runs safely and smoothly. Camp Counselors will act as a positive and appropriate role model for fellow staff and campers, and support the goals and spirit of camp at the JCC East Bay.

Summer camp will run from June 14, 2021 - July 30, 2021. There will be mandatory staff training the first two weeks of June (specific dates TBD). Summer camp schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm. Counselors will attend daily check-ins with administration at the end of each camp day.

Minimum Qualifications:

Covid-19 Safety

  • Show that safety is always important, with a special attention to Covid-19 regulationsand guidance.
  • Aid in cleaning spaces and toys used by campers.
  • Aid in drop-off and pick-up procedures to make sure campers are safely and efficientlyarriving and leaving camp.
  • Receive daily temperature readings at drop-off.
  • Assist in maintaining social distance guidelines with campers and staff.
  • Assist in maintaining health precautions among campers and staff (i.e. thorough hand washing, mask-wearing).

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Childcare or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to be outside throughout the entirety of the camp day, regardless ofweather conditions.
  • Camp Counselors must be 18+ years old, and must have received the Covid-19vaccination.
  • Junior Camp Counselors must be 16+ years old

Salary:

25,000 - 35,000
