SUMMARY:

Habimah Arts Camp is a multi-disciplinary summer camp giving children, grades from 1st-8th, exposure and skill-building in both visual and performing arts. Each camp day consists of several classes within these fields from Baltimore's finest artists and instructors. The program also incorporates swimming, outdoor time, and field trips. Campers also have a final showcase of what they've learned on the final Friday of each 2-week session. This year, the program will also be incorporating a new section to our older campers, where the final product will be a full stage musical.

Under the supervision of the Creative Summer Camp Director and Senior Camp Director, our ideal candidate is prepared to be a role model to their team and campers alike, has a can-do demeanor, has experience and loves working with children, and has experience in or avid appreciation for the performing art.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work Environment:

The work environment is usually fast paced. This job requires high energy and interaction with staff as well as with members, other agency staff, community leaders, and outside partners, vendors, others.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

COVID PROTOCOLS:

All staff members must be fully vaccinated, with a booster, and proof of vaccination is required upon employment.

Camp will be held in-person at Rosenbloom Owings Mills Jewish Community Center in Owings Mills, Maryland. Current COVID-19 protocol mandates that all children and adults while in a classroom setting indoors are required to wear masks as well as adhere to ever changing guidelines as they apply. Because the COVID-19 situation is ever-changing, we recommend that applicants continue to check the JCC website for up-to-date information on the nature of the Fall session and COVID-19 safety guidelines.

COMMITMENT:

Hours are from 8:00AM-4:30PM daily, preferred entire camp commitment from June 20th-August 12th.Additional options for early drop off and late pickup are available for additional compensation.

Salary: Competitive Paid position; dependent on experience, and junior or senior counselor qualifications.
