We are looking for a positive role model who enjoys the outdoors. Do you know how to survive in the woods, build shelters and campfires? Have you ever facilitated a low ropes course? How to identify animal tracks, plants and trees? Would you like to teach others these skills? We are looking for a nature lover who is passionate about sharing their love of the outdoors with others.
The Nature/Trip Leader is a nature, science and outdoor enthusiast who creates and leads our JCC Camp Nature curriculum. The Nature/Trip Leader prepares daily lessons for each age group on a variety of topics (such as local native species, weather, astronomy, environmentalism, recycling, nature-related crafts, hiking and camping and plant or animal identification). The Nature/Trip Leader may also assist in teaching a ropes course.
Camp operates from Sunday, June 28 - Sunday, August 16, 2020. Approximately (7) paid days off during the Camp season. Full time hours including days, nights and weekends. Competitive pay plus Room and Board.
Required attendance for orientations as follows:
General Staff Orientation: Monday, June 22 - Saturday, June 27, 2020 Specialist Certification Training Dates-TBD
The Nature/Trip Leader must have experience working with children and the ability to create, teach and lead nature activities and projects for children of various ages. The Nature Specialist will work cooperatively with all staff, report directly to the Program Director, and participate in or lead any other senior leadership activities.
