Principal Responsibilities:


The Noah's Ark Assistant Director is a position that demonstrates leadership abilities by helping to create and maintain a positive camp environment for campers, counselors, and families. Along with the Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Preschool Camp program.

The Assistant Director will ensure that the camp operates in accordance with JCC policies, procedures, and state licensing standards to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children. The Assistant Director will also assume the Director responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Director. The successful candidate will meet expectations for delivering exceptional customer service to families and create a sense of community among children, families, counselors, and staff.

Work Environment:

The work environment is usually fast paced. This job requires high energy and positive interactions with staff, families, other agencies, community leaders, outside partners, vendors, etc.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. During the summer, this position requires spending up to 5 hours each day on their feet, 5 hours per day outside, and the ability to run to opposite ends of the camp facility to address crisis situations. The employee must have the physical strength and ability to lift, carry and/or move children or other objects up to 50 pounds.
