This position supports the Associate Director of Camps in overseeing the daily operations of Mid-Island Day Camp during the summer season, while also contributing to year-round planning and program development. It offers a unique opportunity to shape camper experiences, lead impactful initiatives, and be part of a vibrant, mission-driven team.
Key Areas of Responsibility
? Collaborate in the design, execution, and supervision of all aspects of Mid-Island Day Camp operations.
? Assist in the hiring process for seasonal camp staff, including interviews, background checks, onboarding, and compliance tracking.
? Assist with camper registration and maintain accurate documentation to ensure a smooth enrollment process.
? Plan and facilitate pre-camp orientations, staff training sessions, and weekend tours as needed.
? Represent the camp at open houses, reunions, and marketing events; help develop promotional materials to support outreach efforts.
? Plan and supervise year-round youth programs that foster connection and community beyond the summer season.
? Help sell, plan, and run birthday parties at camp during off-season
? Maintain consistent and professional communication with parents and guardians.
? Promote a positive, inclusive environment rooted in Jewish values, fostering strong morale and spirit among campers and staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibilities and oversees part-time and seasonal camp staff.
This position is full-time. Days are Monday through Friday, with weekend hours for tours when needed. 40 hours will vary.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors or master's Degree in education, Social Work or another child related field. Prior experience working directly with children.
Knowledge and Skills:

? Competent financial management ability
? Proven experience in customer service management and quality service delivery
