Principal Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

Program Coordinator, Coming of Age (CoA) Older Adult and Senior Programs *Part-time position - 25 hours/week

The Program Coordinator will be a highly-motivated, organized individual who will help develop, plan and implement trips, lectures, classes, and other Seniors/older adults programs and events. They must have the drive and passion to connect and engage with the senior population. We are looking for an individual who has commitment, enthusiasm and creativity. *This position will report to and work directly with the CoA Director.

Essential Functions:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Proficient at computer and internet use.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, or other registration or customer relationship management platforms, is preferred.
  • Skilled at verbal and written communication.
  • Willingness and ability to work day and some evening /weekend events, as well as attend one annual overnight trip.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, effective problem-solver, creative thinker, make decisions and take action, some experience developing and executing events and/or presenting programs.
  • Skilled multi-tasker with the ability to manage several diverse programs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and venues.
  • Provide a friendly, inclusive service-oriented environment for all participants.
  • Demonstrate awareness of, and appreciation for, individual uniqueness and diversity.
  • Acquire knowledge of, and have respect for, the mission of the Bender JCC of Greater Washington.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Must be physically present in the building during core business hours on a regular basis.
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle to travel locally to programs, meetings and events.
  • Must be able to lift boxes or supplies up to 20 lbs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts degree and/or relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience working with the senior adult population preferred.
  • Previous experience developing and executing events and/or presenting programs preferred.
