Principal Responsibilities:

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Internship Coordinator. As an Internship Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading our Summer Teen Leadership Internship program, with a focus on nutrition education. You will work closely with our Director of Volunteer Services and Sunday Market Manager to educate, train, and support local teens to address the social service needs of our community while developing their leadership skills.

Job Type: Part-time (July 10-August 10, Mon-Thurs, 10am-3pm)

Location: Riverdale Y

Salary: $20/hr

Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the Summer Teen Leadership Internship program, with a focus on nutrition education.
2. Recruit and enroll participants, with a focus on reaching out to recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to use the Sunday Market.
3. Provide educational and training opportunities for the interns, including nutrition education and leadership skills development.
4. Coordinate and supervise interns in their volunteer work and activities.
5. Communicate with interns, volunteers, and community partners regularly to ensure program objectives are met.
6. Evaluate the program's success and make recommendations for improvements.
7. Maintain program records and reports as needed.

Requirements:

1. BA required, MA preferred in Education, Social Justice, or a related field.
2. Some experience in program coordination and management.
3. Leadership and interpersonal skills.
4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. Passion for social justice, education, and working with older adults and/or socially and economically disadvantaged populations.
6. Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with others.

The Riverdale Y is a 75,000 sq. ft. Jewish Community Center that provides educational, recreational, cultural, and wellness programs for children and adults of all ages and backgrounds. The Y features an early childhood center; summer camps; large after school program; senior center; performing arts center featuring theater, dance and music schools; and a health & wellness center that includes cardio and free weight studios, group exercise classes, gymnasium, swimming pool, steam room, sauna and massage therapy.
