As a swim instructor you will have the opportunity to work with children and adults of all ages and skill levels to teach the fundamentals of swimming, as well as the skills needed to be safe around water. Instructors must be friendly, social, and energetic individuals who can effectively communicate with all age groups. Required to be able to spend longer periods of time on feet and in the water. All instructors must have a valid swim instructor certification, but we are able to train and certify you if you do not have one.

Hours/Shifts Available for Summer and Year-Round:

• Hours will vary depending on form of instruction
• Summer Camp Group Lessons: M-Th 9 AM-12 PM
• 4&5 Group Lessons: M-Th 3-3:45 PM
• Swim Team Assistant Coach: M-Th 4-4:30 PM
• Sunday Group Lessons: 9:30-10 AM
• Parent & Me Group Lessons: Sundays 10-11:15 AM
• Private/Semi-Private Swim Lessons: you make your own schedule!

Compensation:

• Camp Group Lessons: $18/hour
• 4 &5 Group Lessons, Parent & Me, and Sunday Group Lessons: $18/hour (DOE*)
• Swim Team Assistant Coach: $18/hour (DOE*)
• Private Lessons: $22/hour (DOE*)
• Paid trainings
• Membership to the JCC facility for you and an additional adult of your choice (includes access to our workout facility, group fitness classes, basketball court, pool, hot tub, and more!)
• Discounts on JCC programming

*DOE: Depending on Experience

• Instruct swimming and aquatics safety in a private, semi-private, or group setting
• Communicate clearly with parents about our pool rules, pricing, scheduling, and progress of participants
• Enforces rules and regulations of a facility, program, and events
• Clearly log all completed lessons in binder
• Work closely with the entire aquatics team to ensure the safety of all participants
• Submit time off request to Aquatics Manager if do group lessons, camp lessons, or Jr. Jellies

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of age
• Valid swim instructor certifications (can be provided) or experience instructing
