The purpose of the Career Ready- Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is to provide New York City youth with summer employment & educational experiences that build on their individual strengths & incorporate youth development principles.
The goals & objectives of Career Ready SYEP are:
Provide a valuable work experience at job sites that are safe & well supervised
Assist youth in identifying career interests via exposure to different industries & educational pathways
Enable youth to acquire positive work habits & develop employmentrelated skills
Facilitate the long-term employment & selfsufficiency of youth
Enable youth to develop an understanding of higher education & available career options
Enable youth to develop financial literacy & other aptitudes that prepare them for adulthood
The individual hired as the Administrative Assistant will be working with Career Ready - SYEP, located at one of the local Queens High Schools. They will enforce the structure of the program, ensure consistent organization & will report to the SYEP Program Director.
Hours: Part-time. 19 Hours/Week Start Date: As Early as March 11, 2020 Salary: $17/HR
