Principal Responsibilities:
The CIT Program Supervisor at The Roth Family JCC of Greater Orlando, a part of Shalom Orlando, develops and leads a comprehensive leadership training program for rising 10th graders. This role shapes the next generation of camp counselors by providing mentorship, hands-on experience, and professional development while fostering connections to Judaism, the Jewish people, and Israel through meaningful leadership experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
2025 CAMP SEASON DETAILS
- Dates: June 9-August 1, 2025
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, full-day program
- Training: Required attendance at orientation dates before camp starts
- Commitment: The full summer season is highly preferred
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program Leadership & Development
- Design and implement a comprehensive CIT leadership training curriculum
- Lead regular workshops and skill-building sessions focused on counselor development
- Integrate Jewish values and traditions into leadership training
- Create opportunities for CITs to develop and lead camp programming
- Evaluate and document individual CIT progress and growth
- Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to support CIT development
2. Operational Management
- Coordinate CIT schedules, rotations, and placements throughout camp
- Manage parent communication including orientations and progress updates
- Track and document program outcomes and participant development
- Maintain program materials and resources
- Ensure compliance with camp policies and safety procedures
- Handle administrative tasks including attendance and incident reports
3. Camp & Staff Collaboration
- Train counselors and specialists in effective CIT mentorship
- Participate in leadership team meetings and program planning
- Coordinate with department heads for CIT learning opportunities
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders including staff and parents
- Support camp-wide events and special programming
- Must be able to swim and may need to swim every day of camp
- Contribute to future staff recruitment and development initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Experience
- Must be 21 years or older
- Professional experience working with teens is required
- Previous camp leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of youth development and leadership training
- Excellence in mentoring and coaching
- Program development and implementation experience
- Knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions is preferred
Physical Requirements and Certifications
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (must obtain before camp starts)
- Ability to participate in active camp programs
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions
