Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Working knowledge of and ability to abide by GAAP and IRS regulations
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years experience in accounting department or other financial environment with working knowledge of non-profit accounting
  • Attention to meeting internal and external customer service needs and expectations by building mutually respectful relationships with colleagues, members, volunteers and vendors; responding in a timely manner; quickly and effectively resolving issues; willingness to work collaboratively to ensure satisfaction; and anticipate future needs.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel experience; accurately prepares automated spreadsheets. Our general ledger is MIP Fund Accounting, budget software is Microix, CRM is Salesforce with Traction Rec and Classy. Experience with those is a plus.
  • Experience in efficient, accurate and timely month-end closing
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and decision making skills.

Educational Degree(s), Professional Degree(s), or Certificate(s) Required:

  • Four-year college degree in accounting or related field and/or related work experience and continuing education.

  • Knowledge of, and respect for, the mission of the Bender JCC.
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Bender JCC, including its Personnel Handbook, and to abide by them
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Communicate effectively with others, verbally and in writing
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Accounting degree or minimum of 4 Years of accounts payable and payroll experience
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Good time management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail a must
  • Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel experience
  • Experience with computerized financial systems and automated payroll systems required; prior experience with Abila's MIP accounting software is a plus
  • Excellent customer service approach in dealing with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to count money
