Are you an innovative Human Resources Leader who wants to use your talents and knowledge to take an outstanding non-profit into a new level of excellence? The JCC Greater Boston is seeking a Director of Human Resources who excels in an environment where he/she/they provides insightful, caring front line service to managers and staff as well as playing a leadership role in overseeing the Human Resources function (with 400 year-round employees plus 500 seasonal/summer employees). This is a dynamic time of change for the organization with a new CEO and a high appreciation for the role of HR. We are seeking an innovative, proactive, and collaborative HR professional interested in building better employee services and processes, with progressive policies and benefits, in support of positioning the JCC Greater Boston as a Great Place to Work. This is a full time, hybrid position based in Newton. This position reports to the AVP Finance & Administration. The starting salary for this position is $95,000 - $110,000. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Human Resources Director has both strategic and tactical responsibilities. He/she/they are responsible for staying abreast of best practices/emerging HR issues, developing a deep understanding of the organization and how their unique role contributes to its success, developing a vision for the department and identifying/acting upon for opportunities for improvement. Additionally, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing/reinforcing a culture of outstanding customer service which aligns with organizational values. This is a "roll up your sleeves" type of leadership role with a diverse set of responsibilities.

The Director of Human Resources manages a team of two and is responsible for the direction, coordination and delivery of Human Resources-related services including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll and employment-related federal and state compliance. The organization provides a variety of programs and services to children and adults in the Greater Boston Jewish community including: four Preschools, three day camps, a regional model of Jewish family engagement, a fully equipped fitness and aquatic center, arts and culture classes, performances, lectures, and Jewish holiday celebrations.
