Principal Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The IT Director is responsible for the overall planning, organization, and execution of all information technology functions for the organization. This includes directing all IT operations to meet the needs of a growing nonprofit agency while ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of technical systems that support staff, programs, and services.
This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on leadership to manage infrastructure, software platform development, cybersecurity, user support, vendor relationships, and technology planning.
Due to the nature of our agency operations and the role IT plays in supporting community events and program services, this position requires flexible - evening and weekend scheduled availability of the Director and staff as needed to provide system support, address system issues, or manage critical technology needs.
We seek a skilled and experienced professional with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills who will lead our IT function and develop outstanding cross-functional relationships throughout our agency.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement the organization's IT strategy in alignment with agency goals.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Plan for future technology growth and scalability.
- Lead technology-related projects from concept through implementation.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Oversee all network infrastructure, servers, cloud systems, and hardware.
- Ensure systems' reliability, performance, and uptime.
- Manage software platforms, databases, and agency-wide systems with our established vendors.
- Maintain data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Establish and maintain cybersecurity protocols and best practices.
- Ensure protection of sensitive data and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and respond to threats or breaches.
IT Support & Operations
- Oversee IT helpdesk and end-user support functions.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues for staff.
- Develop IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Provide training and guidance for staff on technology use and security practices.
Vendor & Budget Management
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and oversee service agreements.
- Develop and manage the IT budget responsibly.
Event & Operational Support
- Provide or coordinate IT support for agency events, meetings, and special programs.
- Be available for evening and weekend support as operational needs arise in conjunction with IT staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive IT experience, with leadership responsibility preferred.
- Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment is a plus.
- Experience with App River, Microsoft 365/admin, Elevent, Mailchimp, Jotform, ConnectWise and greater giving software a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of network administration, cloud environments, and cybersecurity
- Experience managing Microsoft 365, servers, firewalls, backups, and endpoint management.
- Familiarity with database systems and nonprofit software platforms
- Understanding of data privacy standards and best practices
- Salesforce application experience
Leadership & People Skills
- Manages the staff of Salesforce administrators, event and helpdesk support and key vendors.

- An exceptional ability to communicate and develop cross-functional relationships throughout the agency.

Salary:
$55,000 - $65,000
