Principal Responsibilities:

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator is a creative, observant, and highly organized individual with exceptional writing and communication skills. This person has a passion for Jewish summer camp, loves capturing and telling meaningful stories, and understands how to connect with families and the broader community through authentic, engaging content. The ideal candidate is a strong writer first and foremost, with a good eye for moments that matter and the ability to bring them to life through words, images, and sound. Familiarity with social media trends and digital storytelling is essential.

Camp Kef at the Kaiserman JCC is an award-winning, premier Jewish Day Camp dedicated to providing a high-quality, well-rounded summer experience. We serve campers from infancy through 10th grade and emphasize universal Jewish values including kindness, community, spirit, and respect. Camp Kef is committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

  • Be present throughout camp to observe, capture, and write engaging stories that highlight programming, camper experiences, staff moments, and special camp traditions (such as Color War, Messy Day, Israel Day, and more)
  • Create daily and weekly written highlights that serve as storytelling tools for parents and the community
  • Partner with the camp photographer to develop weekly camper, staff, and program spotlights that reflect the spirit and values of Camp Kef
  • Manage Camp Kef's social media platforms, including content creation, posting, and engagement
  • Collect and organize content (written, visual, and audio) for use throughout the year in marketing, grant writing, and community engagement
  • Partner with the Camp Director to produce the KefCast camper podcast, including planning episodes, recording audio with campers and staff, and uploading content (full podcast training provided)
  • Draft and distribute weekly newsletters in coordination with Unit Heads

August (Post Camp Season)

  • Attend a one-hour end-of-summer leadership team wrap-up meeting
  • Participate in a one-hour debrief meeting with the Camp Director

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 19 years old
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with a strong sense of storytelling and the ability to notice and capture meaningful moments
  • Comfort interacting with campers and staff to gather stories and content
  • Creative, self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced camp environment
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital storytelling
  • Interest in Jewish summer camp, community-building, and working with children and teens

Compensation:

  • Summer salary starting at $4800 for the Summer 2026 season based on experience
  • Training bonus offered upon completion of required trainings
