The Stamford JCC Inclusion Department is currently recruiting senior high school and college students for summer job employment in our Hand in Hand program. Hand in Hand is a specialty camp within the Stamford JCC's day camp that helps children with special needs with their social skills. We have a unique program that allows children to learn social skills in a fun way taught by a clinician and then participate in an inclusionary environment in various camp activities. Hand in Hand counselors shadow 2 children with special needs in the summer and help them with camp activities and building relationships. We are trying to find students who have had experience working or volunteering with children who have special needs and who genuinely enjoy working with diverse children in a recreational setting.
Must be 18 years or older and have 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
