Principal Responsibilities:

JCC Greater Boston is seeking a Personal Trainer. This is a great opportunity for someone who is professional and thrives on working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. As a Personal Trainer, you would be helping your clients envision and achieve their personal fitness goals. Here at JCC Greater Boston, we set our trainers up for success and value each trainer's unique contributions. This part-time position is located in Newton, MA.

This position will pay in the range of $17/hr. for floor shifts, and $52+/hr. as a percentage of sales. as a starting salary. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the hours the employee will work, the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.

Responsibilities of Personal Trainer

Member Services

• Perform member fitness center orientations (Fit Plans) based on JCC's protocol, evaluate health history, conduct assessments, demonstrate equipment usage, and develop a safe, effective workout plan
• Maintain a current online schedule, tracking appointments, check-ins, and payments
• Keep up-to-date on current JCC program offerings. Encourage new members to participate in other JCC program offerings

Personal Training

• Develop safe and effective exercise programs utilizing progression. Ensure programs are consistent with members' goals/needs and within the scope of the education and knowledge you currently possess
• Represent the Fitness Center in a positive and professional manner at all times. Provide excellent customer service both to your clients and to others using the facilities.
• Promote the JCC personal training program. This includes encouraging and maintaining a client base and existing clients to continue, as well as encouraging new sign-ups (e.g. during fitness center orientations, fitness floor shifts, and contacting interested members within 24 hours of receiving a lead).
• Assist in the development and implementation of new programs and classes
• Attend all mandatory Personal Trainer meetings, training, and development
• Follow the Daily Action Plan and complete all items on the checklist while on shift

• Share responsibility for floor shifts with other trainers and Health & Wellness staff members. Circulate the fitness floor and assist members in safe and effective exercise forms.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized fitness floor. Report equipment issues to the Fitness Director.
• Enforce all Fitness Center, Cardio Deck & Indoor Track policies

Qualifications of Personal Trainer

• Is currently nationally accredited training certificated (ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE)
• Is CPR/AED Certified
• Has 5 years of experience in the health and fitness industry
• Has computer skills including Windows, Excel, and Fitness related software
• Is up-to-date on knowledge of fitness protocols

Essential Functions of Personal Trainer

• Must be able to work in a fast pace busy environment
• Must be willing to work nights and weekend hours
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the building
• Routinely lifts and carries, moves and positions objects weighing up to 45 pounds
• Is able to lift objects over 45 pounds

Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000
