Do you enjoy teaching young children about sustainability, organic-farming, and environmental issues? Are you inspired to create positive change in our local community? Do you enjoy working in a collaborative and supportive environment for a values-driven organization that cares deeply for its employees? If so, the Boulder JCC might be the place for you!
Our dynamic and community-centered organization is looking for an energetic, conscientious, and resourceful Farm Educator to join our Early Childhood team for the school year. The Boulder JCC Early Childhood Center (ECC) is designed to enhance the social, emotional, linguistic, cognitive, and physical development of each child. Our school offers opportunities for exploration and discovery in a play-based, educational environment. We strive to nourish children's innate sense of wonder, curiosity, imagination, and self esteem. We welcome children ages 6 weeks through Kindergarten.
One of the special features of our campus is the Milk and Honey Farm, a 2+ acre educational, sustainable farm. On the farm are goats, chickens, a geo-desic dome greenhouse, a small orchard and vineyard, and outdoor vegetable growing areas. The farm is the backdrop for camps in the summer, programs for families and adults, and provides over 3,000 lbs of fresh vegetables to the needy throughout the growing season. Milk and Honey Farm is a place to connect with soil, plants, animals, and people. The farm educator will be supported by the Farm and Sustainability Director on curriculum, program development, and the operation of the farm.
