Principal Responsibilities:

SUMMARY:

The JCC and 4Front are seeking a passionate leader to serve as a role model and coordinator of JCC middle school programs. Under the leadership and supervision of 4Front, the community's Jewish teen engagement initiative, this position will coordinate and facilitate the JCC's ongoing Middle School Leadership Council (MSLC) for 6-8th graders from September-May. As MSLC coordinator, this position will plan and implement existing programs, develop new ideas, and grow meaningful relationships with tweens and teens in the program. Additionally, over the summer months this position will be extended to full-time to serve as the Director of Middle School camp at J Camps in June-August. This position will be expected to work some nights and weekends and be available most Wednesday evenings.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, plan, and implement Middle School Leadership Council program, taking place on Wednesday evenings September - May, for 6-8th graders.
  • Program implementation includes but is not limited to developing, planning, and facilitating weekly workshops and program meetings, coordinating program logistics, programmatic budget management, recruiting and selecting participants, and communicating with participants and parents.
  • Planning, facilitating, and staffing one overnight middle school retreat.
• Recruit, plan, and direct TNT summer camp for teens entering 7th and 8th grade.
  • Serve as part of the J Camps Leadership team.
  • Attend monthly J Camps Leadership Meetings
• Work cooperatively with the 4Front team on recruitment and creating a pipeline between Middle school programming and 4Front - the Jewish community's teen engagement platform.
• Create an equitable and inclusive environment by performing duties with empathetic understanding towards every participant, regardless of their gender, sexuality, race, ability, or identity.
• Maintain and enforce agency policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required or directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with children and/or teens.
• Familiarity with Jewish concepts and values, calendar, and practices
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Strong organizational skills and written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and execute creative programs.
• A sense of empathy towards the developmental, social, and emotional needs of children and teens.
• Works well in a team environment
• Proven success in a leadership position

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is fast paced.This job requires high energy and interaction with staff as well as with members, other agency staff, community leaders, and outside partners, vendors, others.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.The employee is required to have enough mobility, essential to assisting others with less mobility. The employee must be physically able to react safely and appropriately if participant's behaviors warrant physical action such as running or restraining.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to spend time sitting and using a computer, laptop, or phone. The employee may also be required to frequently be on their feet for periods of time.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary

September - May: 15 Hours/week, $20/Hr

• In-person position with flexible work schedule.
• Program facilitation takes place Wednesday evenings from 6-9pm. Planning hours can be scheduled based on the individual's schedule.

June-August: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, $5000-$5500

Includes individual JCC Membership

$50 - $55k
